Biography

Over the last 10 years there has remained one name synonymous with the Irish dance music fraternal. Her name is Mandy Reid. Over the last decade she has been playing regularly with the worlds biggest DJs in some of Ireland’s finest clubs with a residency at the much loved Coach in Bainbridge, but in the last few years it’s her productions which have been causing the biggest stir!!!

“Mandy Reid is one of the UK’s most exciting new producers; she is one of the most exciting electronic artists to come out of Ireland for many years…..she is a fantastic DJ and an incredible producer to boot”- Carl Cox comments on his Global internet radio show..

Carl Cox featured Mandy on The Global Lowdown segment of his internet radio show, where he dedicates a half hour mix to tracks chosen from his favourite DJ’s, producers and labels worldwide.

Well known artists’s to feature on “The Global Lowdown” in the past have included Fatboy Slim, X-Press2, Laurent Garnier and DJ Vibe, putting Mandy with an elite group of DJ/Producers to be backed by the legend that is Mr Cox!

Two of dance music’s biggest and most successful record labels “Bonzai” and “Size” have also recognised Mandy’s potentials as an up-coming Producer/Artist.

Steve Angello signed Disco Construction-“Can’t get enough” to his very successful and highly acclaimed Size Records, Sweden and in October 2004 the Original track was released along with the Steve Angello mix. “Can’t Get Enough” featured on compilations including USA’s DJ Dan-“Lift” and Australia’s Mark James-“Two Tribes” as well as receiving plays from DJ’s including Robbie Rivera, Paul Van Dyk, John Askew on Kiss FM and many more, including Fergie on his BBC Radio 1 show.

Bonzai Records in Belgium (arguably the biggest trance label worldwide) signed Mandy as an artist under her Armandi pseudonym. April 2005 saw the release of “Philtre” and “Pitchblende”; releases that have followed include “Distraction”, “Programmed”, the Armandi mix of Jones and Stevenson “First Rebirth” and Green Martian’s mix of “Philtre”. The next planned releases are “Up the tempo” and “Zero Gravity” and “Tribute” (vinyl and download) already receiving plays from Judge Jules and Dave Pearce on Radio 1. A digital album is also being planned for 2007 on the Belgian imprint which will include new tracks “Rainstorm” and “Paranormal”, “Don’t be afraid” and many more to come. Armandi will also be making a debut performance at the Belgian outdoor event “Tomorrowland”.

2005-2006 saw Jon go from strength to strength, It started with him appearing on the world famous Essential Mix in January and then being offered a place on Radio 1’s new show The Residency, joining the likes of Eddie Halliwell and Nic Fancuilli in the world famous Radio 1 studios. This gave him a great lift and extended his name to a new fan base across the globe and also led to him playing at the massive club Space, in Ibiza.

Jon’s love for Trance allowed him to create his own record label ‘Conspiracy Recordings’ alongside up & coming U.K producer Rob Stevenson. The label has been a huge success with virtually every release receiving great support from all the big jocks and tracks being included on Tiesto’s and Armin van Buuren’s mix compilations. 2006 also was the year of Jon’s 1st 2 solo productions ‘Effectual’ and the massive ‘Ascendancy’ which went down a storm in club land.

“Philtre” featured on compilations including “Trance Republic” mixed by Darren Tate and “Timeless Trance” mixed by Yves Deruyter. It also received plays from the legendary Paul Oakenfold, Airwave and M.I.K.E-Push amongst a host of others. The tracks also featured on BBC Radio One; including plays by Judge Jules and Eddie Halliwell on his “Residency” slot. The world’s biggest DJ’s are also taking notice of the tracks which Mandy records under her own name, including “Sentient”, “Brassed off”, “Taste” and “Ethnic Minority”. Judge Jules includes “Sentient” in the playlist of his BBC Radio One show, while Carl Cox, Steve Angello and John Askew are all supporting “Brassed off” and “Taste”.

Eddie Halliwell, after hearing “Taste” on John Askew’s Kiss FM show, called to ask for the contact details and contacted Mandy directly to ask for a copy of the track!! “Taste” and “Ethnic Minority” are both signed to Paul Van Dyk’s new radio and download site VONYC.COM.

Combining her production success so far and the many new tracks to come, Mandy Reid …, with the support she has been getting from the worlds finest has a very bright future ahead of her!
