Biography

James Best has been djing since 1999, playing any house party that came his way. In early 2000 an oppertunity came his way to play in one of Irelands most prestigeous clubs, the Coach in Banbridge - Northern Ireland (voted Irelands no 1 club and Irelands no 1 crowd). After making a few appearances he was soon offered a residency playing house music in a new back room with the capacity of about 350 people.

After making the room his own with his mixture of funky and chunky house and his ability to get the crowd going, he was soon warming up and finishing off the night for big name djs in the main room with a capacity of around 1500 people. The djs included the likes of Mauro Picotto, Judge Jules, Scot Project, Fergie, Agnelli & Nelson, to name but a few. In this room, James was able to showcase his talents on a bigger scale, using tricks behind the decks and letting his personality come through in his abality to work with the crowd. He was also able to play more of a varitey of music, building up with deep and uplifting house and finishing with hard trance and techno at the end off the night. It wasn't long before James was brought in as a main guest, with residents Barry McConkey and Mark Wesley playing either side of his set.

As a relatively familiar face, James managed to pull a very respectable crowd on his first night. He now fills the room every time he guest spots in the main room, as the crowd have learned what to expect. After a brief spell of living in Newcastle upon Tyne and playing in bars and clubs in the North East region, he returned home to continue with his residency and also got his first taste of radio broacasting, getting hour long sets on Cool FM (Northern Irelands largest radio station) on a peaktime saturday evening show. This was followed by regular sets on the late night dance show Eupho.

Around the same time he also started making regular appearances playing the main room of the Network in Belfast. Unfortunately, after much serious talk of a residency here, it was closed as Belfast City Council took a disliking to afterhours nightclubs. After several visits, Ibiza was beckoning and James was offered a chance to play in Nitelife in San Antonio with fello Irish dj and now Ibiza veteran Dermot C, which he jumped at the chance of. In 2005, he returned to play with Tidy vs Euphoria in the beautiful Es Paradis, alongside Scot Project, Andy Farley and Rob Tissera. This new night in Ibiza proved an instant success, and returned for a second year in 2006. As did James, this time playing with Amber D, Lady Bianca, Andy Farley and Alex Kidd in what seems to be an even busier year for the night. This is also the first year playing at a festival, as James played an early evening set at Planet Love in the very busy Coach tent.

It has also been a busy year for James in the studio. After completing a music production course, James has started working with Phil Johnston of Coast 2 Coast. He has now started work on his follow up to his debut studio production - "San Miguel". Expect to hear more quality productions in the very near future.
